To add, remove or change your column properties open the table designer by clicking the Designer button in the upper right corner of your open table.

You can add and remove columns in the bar on top as well as rearrange their order. The order will affect how the columns will be displayed, from left to right in the table itself.

Column Properties

Data Types

Allowed data types: String, Number, Decimal, DateTime and Checkbox. For all data types, except for checkbox, a Formatting tab will appear next to the Default View tab. The Formatting tab will give you control of how your values are displayed in exTables.

Column Types

The default column type is Normal which allows you to select from the available data types mentioned above.

Calculated column is a column where the value is calculated from other columns. In our example the columns Amount and Price are columns of the number data type. To calculate the total price we multiply Amount with Price

Another example would be to set the Total Price columns data type to String and the Expression as 'Total Price' + [Amount]*[Price].

Item List

Columns that should have values from a fixed set of items can be made as item list columns. In the List Items tab you can add the values that should be available to select in the table. These items will be displayed in a drop down on cells in this column.

A lookup column is similar to item list columns, the possible values are a list of specific values. The difference is that Lookup columns reference another table to create the selection.

Further details can be found under Lookup Column.
